Do you know a source that never runs dry?
During the 1970s, developers in the think tank at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the most renowned technical universities in the world, began sharing and improving each other's software. This would turn out to be the beginning of the open source movement, which is, by now, much more than a mere initiative within the world of programmers.
The basic idea is as simple as it is plausible: if countless users, including top-notch experts, contribute to development and include their extensive knowledge and experience, the logical result is continual improvement - a form of product optimisation that an individual development team could never achieve. The prime example of this is the free operating system Linux, which perfectly embodies the open source philosophy.
We, too, succumbed to the charms of this idea. And you can benefit from this in two ways: on the one hand, our development times are considerably reduced, because we use high quality, tried and tested open source frameworks. And we think it only fair to allow our customers to share in the price benefits achieved as a result.
But that's not all. We want to support the open source movement itself. This is why we have decided to publish the foundations for our integration platform eGIPt based on the Mozilla Public Licence (1.1). This means that all components can also be used in a commercial context. For you, this represents free test: Evaluate one of our products as rigorously as you like. We are certain that our products speak for themselves.
